Discover the presentation of the winegrower

Chateau Martinat is located on the commune of LANSAC, in the heart of the Côtes de Bourg, in a hilly landscape near the river: the Gironde.

This has an influence on the sweetness of the climate and the period of sunshine of this region.

The soil of our 10 hectares are characterized by the presence of veins of small graves and red and brown clays, a precious quality asset value to the maturity of our grapes and the density of our wines.

The age of vines is 40 years on average (70% Merlot, 20%Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Malbec). The work remains manual: debudding, leafing, green harvesting and hand picking of the harvest.

All is done with care and attention, with the concern to create each year a qualitative vintage.

We wish to respect each year for what it offers, without trying to change the vintage expression.

Our wines can be tasted in their youth and maintain their personality by aging, so you can enjoy them for many years.

In 1986, Rémy and Ghislaine Rousselot took over the family business. Our vineyard extends over 21 hectares and over two appellations: Fronsac and Lalande dePomerol.

In Fronsac we offer Château les Roches de Ferrand cuvée Grande Sélection, which is a selection of plots that favors the power and complexity of the aromas, and the Château Saint Rémy, supple and fruity.

In Lalande de Pomerol we produce Domaine Pont de Guestres exclusively from Merlot on a sandy-gravelly soil which brings the complexity and the sweetness of the tannins, and the Château Au Pont de Guîtres with a clay subsoil for an expression of red fruits.

The origin of the name Pont de Guîtres comes from the small bridge that crosses the Barbanne, a stream forming the limit between the AOC Pomerol and Lalande de Pomerol.
