Welcome to Jean Gauthier Distillery, a family story spanning three generations. Founded in 1968 by Jean Gauthier, then developed by his son Denis, the distillery is today run by his grandchildren, Sarah and Romain, who carry on the same passion while bringing a new energy to the house.

Located in Saint-Désirat, at the gateway to the Rhône Valley, our distillery has become a benchmark in the world of fruit spirits. We are proud specialists in Williams pear brandy, but also craft apricot, cherry, raspberry, plum and many other eaux-de-vie, alongside a wide selection of liqueurs, creams and aperitifs.

Every step of production — from fruit selection and fermentation to distillation, aging, blending and bottling — is carried out with the same care and attention to detail that has made our reputation for over 50 years.

Beyond production, the distillery is also home to the Musée de l’Alambic, one of France’s largest collections dedicated to the history of distillation. Over 1,400 m² of exhibition space showcase magnificent copper stills, tools and heritage objects, offering visitors a journey through time. The tour continues inside the distillery itself, where guests can discover the still room, aging cellars and bottling line, before enjoying a free tasting of our creations.

Today, the adventure continues with new projects, new liqueurs inspired by our terroir, and the same desire to share the authentic taste of fruit and the spirit of our region.
